Tax Analyst, Tax Engine

Job description

Tax Engine is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Analyst to join our team in São Paulo. In this role, you will own end-to-end tax engine configurations, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure tax compliance across Brazil's complex indirect tax landscape — including readiness for the upcoming Tax Reform (IBS/CBS). You will work with tax technology platforms, manage tax rules and rate configurations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate tax calculations impacting millions of transactions.

Key job responsibilities

- Configure, test, and deploy tax engine rules and rate updates for Brazilian indirect taxes (PIS, COFINS, ICMS, IPI, ISS).

- Support the implementation and configuration of Brazil's Tax Reform (IBS and CBS) within the tax engine.

- Troubleshoot and resolve tax calculation issues through structured root-cause analysis, driving each case to resolution or escalation.

- Validate configurations through testing tools and ensure quality through peer review and pre-deployment sign-off.

- Monitor tax engine health through regression testing and proactive error detection.

- Communicate transparently — provide accurate, verifiable status updates on deployments and support cases.

- Collaborate with the team — participate in meetings, share knowledge, and flag blockers early.

- Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and triage processes.
