Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware. 5 years of experience managing technical, vendor, contract management, or delivery teams. Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

Preferred qualifications

5 years of experience executing strategic initiatives from conception through delivery within a global enterprise environment. Experience working in data center environments, including building and operating infrastructure, and network and compute architecture and life cycle, and Linux/Unix system administration. As a Hardware Operations Manager at Google, you will lead Data Center Technicians managing the physical infrastructure behind Google’s search technology. Your team installs, configures, and maintains server hardware, Linux clusters, and complex networking components like routers and switches, overseeing high-level installations and troubleshooting.

In this role, you will manage critical initiatives across security, maintenance, and networking. Using data analytics, you will identify trends and drive improvements to tools and procedures. You will act as the primary escalation point for your sites, quantifying and resolving systemic issues. You will collaborate with Program Managers and Data Center Operations to provide strategic input on site planning, process changes, and task orders.

Furthermore, you will manage projects to ensure they meet budget, timeline, and resource requirements, and resource needs.
