As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. D is the foundational layer of Google’s storage stack. It is a low-level storage system that stores bytes directly to disk or flash and serves the majority of Google’s data.

It is the critical mediation layer between higher-level storage systems and data center management facilities. We're looking for engineers to help us build and scale this critical distributed control plane. You'll get to rethink how storage capacity is provisioned, isolated, and made available at Google scale. This is an exciting time in the evolution of Google's core storage architecture, as we strive to maximize the utilization and efficiency of our storage resources fleetwide.

By improving how we balance load, manage failure domains, and automate device lifecycles, you'll directly impact the reliability and cost-effectiveness of Google's global storage infrastructure.
