As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. As a Senior Software Engineer (L5) on the detection and response AI team, you will take end-to-end ownership of different workstreams across the Detection AI space.

You will operate with high autonomy, translating ambiguous organizational goals into clear technical roadmaps. You will research, identify, and lead critical problems for the team to solve. Partnering alongside a peer Tech Lead, you will carve out multi-quarter technical initiatives, establish architectural direction, and multiply the output of a talented pool of L3 and L4 engineers. This team build multi-agent systems to autonomously triage, investigate, and remediate security events, and architect governance frameworks, evaluation pipelines, and observability dashboards for security AI.

We operate key enterprise platforms (Brief, Incident Communications) orchestrating critical communications during major Alphabet incidents.
