Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division Donegal

Located in Donegal Town, our Diabetes Care division manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and sensors, including the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite, and FreeStyle Libre systems. Please note any offer of employment for this position is conditional upon the successful completion of a pre-employment medical examination, including drug and alcohol screening, conducted by a medical practitioner designated by the Company Purpose of the Role : As a Manufacturing Shift Lead, you'll support and develop a dynamic team, ensuring production targets and schedules are met.

You'll implement processes that boost productivity and maintain our fast-paced, inclusive environment. Your interpersonal and communication skills will be crucial in this shift-based role, where assertiveness and decision-making in a fast-paced setting are key.

Key Responsibilities

Meet manufacturing schedules and produce the required volume and product mix. Support problem-solving for plant and equipment to achieve quality and production goals. Achieve productivity, quality, and cost objectives. Contribute to creating work instructions and operations procedures. Complete performance excellence assessments and development plans. Lead efforts to protect human health, safety, and the environment. Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional policies.

Education and Experience

Third-level qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science, Business, or a trade certificate in Engineering. 4 years of experience in a similar environment preferred. Experience in strategic gross margin improvement projects. Team leadership experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
