[Apply on Western Digital’s careers site →](https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/WesternDigital/744000155109379-spring-co-op-recording-electronics-data-analytics-optimization) [OpenNash Jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/) / [Western Digital](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/western-digital/) / Spring Co-op - Recording Electronics Data Analytics & Optimization ## Job description ### ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Support development and testing of hardware abstraction layers and engineering commands for channel hardware applications - Assist in writing and maintaining validation scripts used as developer and debug tools - Contribute to test scripts for use within Continuous Integration environments - Participate as an active member of an Agile scrum team supporting Enterprise-level HDD development - Collaborate with internal product teams to support integration and performance validation efforts DATA SCIENCE & ANALYTICS ### RESPONSIBILITIES - Apply machine learning techniques to explore opportunities for test time optimization and HDD read/write performance improvement - Assist in planning, executing, and analyzing channel verification experiments and failure analysis investigations - Support development of automated data pipelines to collect, clean, and analyze test result datasets from channel verification operations - Learn and apply statistical modeling and anomaly detection methods to help identify failure modes in magnetic recording channel components - Create data visualizations and contribute to reports that communicate channel performance findings to engineering stakeholders This role is part of WD's early career development program. WD's early career development program is ideal for individuals at the early stages of their professional career. Participants receive foundational training through structured onboarding, mentorship, and a curated development curriculum.
