With a total backlog reaching €65 billion (Consolidated Financial Results at June 30, 2024), Webuild is a group guided by the passion for building and the pursuit of excellence, which renewed its commitment to building a sustainable future by applying its know-how to build innovative and valuable works. ### Chief Estimator Location Canada (Montreal) ### Department Bidding Webuild is seeking a Chief Estimator for its Montreal branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all estimating activities related to construction and infrastructure projects across Canada. The role oversees the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates, supports bid strategy development, coordinates multidisciplinary teams, and ensures alignment between Canadian operations and the Italian headquarters. ### Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all estimating activities for tenders, proposals, and pre-construction projects. Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements to develop accurate cost estimates. Coordinate inputs from Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Commercial, and external partners. Prepare and validate quantity take-offs, pricing strategies, risk assessments, and estimate summaries. Manage and mentor the estimating team, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to company standards. Support bid reviews and management approval processes. Develop relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and key stakeholders to obtain competitive pricing. Coordinate estimating activities between Canadian operations and the Italian headquarters. ### Qualifications Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in estimating within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sector, including leadership responsibilities. Proven experience preparing estimates for large and complex infrastructure or construction projects. Strong knowledge of public and private procurement processes. Excellent analytical, commercial, and project management skills. Languages Fluent English, French, and Italian are required. ### Key Competencies Estimating & Cost Management Leadership and Team Development Strategic Thinking Risk Assessment Cross-Cultural Collaboration Communication Skills Attention to Detail Results Orientation Contractual and Financial Terms: Job Classification and Level: Executive; Type of Contract: ad hoc contract (in line with the new policy); Salary Range (Gross Annual Salary - RAL): from €95,000 to €110,000; Complementary elements: Transport, accommodation and utilities: at the expense of the Company; Furthermore, the Company will bear the related management expenses strictly limited only to those relating to the supply of water, electric energy, gas and heating within the limits of normality; Insurance: supplementary for professional and extra-professional accidents at the expense of the Company.
