This role requires expertise in data sourcing, quality assessment, and visualization to translate complex data into actionable recommendations. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to align data strategies with business objectives, ensuring scalable and robust model implementation. Strong proficiency in programming, statistical modeling, and communication is essential to support continuous improvement and innovation within Walmart’s data ecosystem. ### About the team The team leads Applied Science initiatives for Last Mile Delivery at Walmart, focusing on optimizing routing, trip pricing, driver trip matching, delivery commitments, and capacity management. Utilizing advanced data strategies and machine learning techniques, they ensure platform trust and safety. Collaborating with stakeholders, the team develops innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Their expertise in predictive analytics, data strategy, and machine learning drives scalable, data-driven outcomes supporting Walmart’s commitment to reliable and efficient last mile delivery services. ### What you'll do Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains, ensuring data quality and suitability for analysis. Develop and implement data strategies aligned with business objectives to unlock value from data assets. Design, build, and validate predictive models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques. Create clear and impactful data visualizations to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders. Translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Deploy and monitor models in production, ensuring scalability and performance. Write, test, and maintain code to support analytics solutions and model development. ### What you'll bring Proven expertise in predictive analytics, machine learning algorithms, and data science methodologies. Proficiency in Python programming and advanced data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau, or PowerBI. Strong knowledge of data strategy, including data quality standards, governance, and scalable data storage solutions. Experience in model assessment, validation, and deployment using statistical and machine learning techniques. Ability to translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions with clear communication to stakeholders. Familiarity with database technologies including SQL and NoSQL for effective data extraction and quality checks. Demonstrated capability to mentor team members and guide advanced analytical modeling efforts.
