### About the Role
- Walmart’s Catalog organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Java backend development to help build and scale critical services for our e-commerce platform.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining highly available, scalable microservices that power Walmart’s vast product catalog and associated services.

### What You'll Do
- Design and implement backend services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Kafka
- Build and maintain distributed, event-driven systems supporting millions of daily transactions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and ensure alignment with business goals
- Develop and optimize data pipelines and streaming services using Kafka and potentially Spark
- Ensure code quality through rigorous testing, CI/CD processes, and code reviews
- Participate in performance tuning and troubleshooting of distributed systems
- Work with Kubernetes and GitHub for deployment automation and source control management Must-Have Skills: Strong proficiency in Java (8+) and Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC) Experience with Apache Kafka for building streaming and event-driven systems Hands-on experience with Cassandra or other NoSQL databases
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub workflows
- Familiarity with container orchestration using Kubernetes Good to Have: Experience with Apache Spark for real-time data processing
- Knowledge of performance services and tuning distributed systems Experience with additional NoSQL databases Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

## Qualifications

### Option 1

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

### Option 2

5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
