Vestas Southern Africa currently operates and maintains 12 operating wind farms in South Africa, combined installed capacity over 900MW and currently recruiting a Service Technician (On-site based).The position will be based in Wesley Wind Farm (Wesley Windfarm is located of R72 next to Wesley Location, Nqushwa Municipality.) within the EC region. The Wind farm consists of 10 X V126 Mk3A 3.45MW turbines, installed capacity of 34MW Responsibilities Delivery of services on an operational level with respect to process adherence, service quality, safety standards and performance ensured Assigned staff is supervised/led/coordinated and a positive and effective working relationship is established / maintained People skills development, competencies and training actions are managed including safety related (Safety walks / talks) Compliance with Vestas standards across the dedicated site and processes, procedures and / or tools implemented continuously - Ensures obeying regional laws and regulations- Resource availability given to perform dedicated work orders Daily management of dedicated staff and resolve issues with external service provider, customers and internal stakeholders - Implement defined function specific processes, procedures and/or tools - Monitor technician's performance and task execution to ensure effective cost control - Approve work performed and technician timesheets - Processes technician requests for planned absence - Manage service crew composition (medium / long term) - Monitor and track site performance and continuously improve - Perform inductions for contractors - Approve working hours of the technicians and sub-contractor's weekly timesheets ED Monthly reporting/people data Provide 1st level technical support to the technicians - Complete reports and paperwork as required by Management Qualifications Post-Matric Engineering qualification (National higher Diploma, National Diploma, Trade Test, BTech or equivalent as a minimum) Minimum - 3 years related work experience within wind industry ### Competencies - Ability to work independently - Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English; additional local language skills are an advantage - Ability to work efficiently with Microsoft Office software and SAP ERP Willingness to travel Driver's license What we offer As a member of the Vestas team, we offer a competitive salary and one of the most comprehensive benefits plans in the industry. ### Among the many amenities we offer Medical Aid; annual leave and pension plan Additional information We look forward to receiving your application as soon as possible, as we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis.
