This role requires broad expertise across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic automation systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. ### Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repair - Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on equipment - Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical failures Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings - Install, align, and rebuild industrial equipment - Work closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance planning teams - Support production startup, changeovers, and emergency repairs ### Safety & Compliance - Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work, confined space, and fall protection - Maintain compliance with OSHA, plant safety standards, and environmental regulations - Participate in safety audits, job hazard analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives ### Continuous Improvement - Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective actions or upgrades - Support reliability-centered maintenance initiatives - Document maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS ### Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required 3–7+ years of multi‑craft maintenance experience in steel, metal processing, or heavy manufacturing ### Technical Skills - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capability Working knowledge of: Industrial hydraulics and pneumatics Welding/fabrication (MIG, Stick preferred) Bearings, lubrication systems, and alignment Basic PLC troubleshooting experience required ### Physical Requirements - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and more with assistance - Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and work in confined spaces - Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods Tolerance for heat, noise, dust, and outdoor conditions ### Competencies & Attributes - Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong work ethic and reliability Effective communication and documentation skills THE VERTIV OPPORTUNITY The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv's Core Principles & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities. ### Our Core Principles Safety | Integrity | Respect | Teamwork | Inclusion Our Strategic Priorities High-Performance Culture Customer Focus Operational Excellence Innovation Financial Strength Vertiv Behaviors Own it Act with urgency Foster a customer-first mindset Think big and execute Lead by example Drive continuous improvement Learn and seek out development Promote transparent & open communication About Vertiv Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) brings together hardware, software, analytics and ongoing services to enable its customers' vital applications to run continuously, perform optimally and grow with their business needs.
