In this role, you will work alongside the Verisk Corporate Accounting teams in the US and globally to provide high-quality customer service to the Verisk business units and management team. ## Responsibilities - Prepare and process revenue journal entries received from Business Units - Develop and maintain basic financial analyses by calculating and reporting key business metrics, including revenue growth rates, product and customer concentration percentages, forecast-to-actual performance ratios, and variance analyses to identify trends and support management reporting - Review customer contracts and billing requirements to ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition - Maintain process documentation and support special projects and continuous improvement across the Order-to-Cash (OTC) process. Actively participate in the monthly closing process, supporting revenue and balance sheet account analysis - Support the investigation and resolution of accounting issues and discrepancies - Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data in the general ledger/revenue in accordance with US GAAP, Corporate Accounting policies, internal SOX controls, and procedures - Liaise with Business Units to complete and maintain appropriate documentation for all responsible SOX controls - Support the audit process by providing documentation and explanations for financial transactions - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and auditing departments - Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the general ledger function - Participate in work transitions from various locations and support special projects and initiatives as needed ## Qualifications - 3+ years of work experience in the general ledger/OTC area - Master’s degree in accounting or another relevant field Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Experience working with ERP systems, Oracle ERP would be considered an asset - Excellent communication and documentation skills (oral and written) - Excellent planning and organizational skills - Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and work independently Detail-oriented, meticulous and diligent Continuous improvement mindset, curiosity and resilience Team player with focus on common goals What we offer: An opportunity to work independently and make an impact within a collaborative, international Finance team.
