Strong Safety Culture, newer equipment, and excellent local leadership and great place to work! ### BASIC PURPOSE To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment. ### ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards. Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.). Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs. Utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines. Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications. Other duties as assigned by manager. ### QUALIFICATIONS Must have 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic. Must furnish own personal hand tools. Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide). High school diploma or equivalent required. Must possess a valid driver's license. ### PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification Experience with Maximo fleet maintenance system Previous mechanical and PM program experience Experience using fleet maintenance software Welding ability WORK ENVIRONMENT Onsite: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility. Ability to work flexible schedule. On/Off ramp to ground level and side doorsteps and Platform of trailer. ### Stairs) 3 (Grasp Objects Hand truck, boxes, cartons, steering wheel) 4 (Manipulate Objects: Boxes, dolly, metal truck ramp, hand truck, paperwork, truck gate, straps) 5 (Manual Dexterity: Typing, use of office machines such as copiers, printers) Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $22 and $24.​ This role may also receive overtime compensation.
