Get all the details here. Yard Jockey CDL – Position Overview Join our team as a Yard Jockey, where your agility and quick-thinking will ensure our logistics run smoothy! As a Yard Jockey CDL, you’ll be at the heart of operations, expertly coordinating the movement and management of trailers. Your effective communication and proactive approach will be key in collaborating with Dispatchers, Warehouse Supervisors, and mechanics to maintain seamless workflow and operational excellence. ### Key Responsibilities Communicate & Collaborate: Coordinate with Dispatchers for assignments and work with mechanics on equipment needs. ### Couple & Prepare Ensure equipment is coupled, ready for use, and prepared for nightly shuttle operations. ### Move & Load Safely relocate, load, and unload trailers between buildings and environments. ### Stage & Set Up Configure trailers for backhaul and position them for quick unloading. ### Engage Attend required meetings and adapt to additional duties as necessary, ensuring a safe work environment. ### Adaptability All other duties assigned by management. Physical Requirements Lift/carry/push/pull/lower 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required. Driving & working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required. Continuously grasp objects & manipulate objects. Frequently sit, stand, walk, drive, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel/bend, bend, reach above shoulder, twist, and use manual dexterity. ### Qualifications Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse* Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications. Minimum of six months commercial driving experience preferred. Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations. Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records. ### About US FOODS® Click here to learn more! - Registering to the FMCSA Clearinghouse is a requirement by the Department of Transportation. All Drivers are required to visit the Clearinghouse website and register to the new database. The Clearinghouse is a secure online database that provides real-time information about commercial driver’s license (CDL) and commercial learner’s permit (CLP) holders’ drug and alcohol program violations. If you have not registered to the FMCSA database, please note registration is required. Please visit FMCSA Clearinghouse and click GO to login. If you are able to login, but are having trouble with the Clearinghouse registration, see “Clearinghouse Help” field on the clearinghouse page. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $24.00 - $28.00 per hour. As applicable, this role may also receive Select as appropriate: overtime compensation, retention bonus, component pay (i.e., based on cases, mileage, stops).
