### Schedule

Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, 5 days per week with optional overtime available. The Lead Medical Assistant participates in providing patient care at an expert skill level while serving as a team lead within the practice. The Lead MA provides leadership, training, onboarding, workflow oversight, and operational support across Cardiology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Dermatology, Oncology, Nephrology, and Pulmonology.

This role supports a single Newburgh location and may be assigned to various specialty areas based on operational needs.

### Primary Responsibilities

Performs all duties at the expert level within the scope of a Medical Assistant practice, including specimen collection, venipuncture, capillary blood collection, EKGs, wound dressing changes, obtaining cultures, equipment quality checks, and sterilization of instruments and equipment Spends approximately 50% of time supporting clinic metrics, projects, workflow optimization, and process improvement initiatives Serves as team lead and assists with coordination of daily operations and workflows.
- Develops and manages monthly staff schedules
- Oversees workflows supporting Cardiology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Dermatology, Oncology, Nephrology, and Pulmonology
- Assists with rooming patients and providing coverage during staff call-outs, lunches, and provider coverage needs, including providers working a fifth day
- Coordinates onboarding, orientation, precepting, education, and training of new staff members
- Serves as a mentor and subject matter expert for Medical Assistant staff
- Promotes a positive work environment and supports clinic culture
- Coordinates patient care as directed by providers and established policies and procedures
- Organizes exam and treatment rooms, stocks and cleans rooms, and sterilizes instruments
- Maintains inventory levels and follows up on supply discrepancies
- Creates and maintains an environment that supports infection prevention
- Performs telephone and in-person screening limited to intake and information gathering without requiring clinical judgment
- Supports and follows Standard Delegation of Orders

### Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience Phlebotomy experience Preferred Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association Team Lead, Lead Medical Assistant, or supervisory experience in a medical practice setting Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.

The hourly pay for this role will range from $20 - $36 per hour based on full-time employment.
