If you love setting a vision, managing cross-functional partners, pushing projects forward to deliver strategically meaningful results, and solving problems from both 30,000 feet as well as deep in the details, this is the role for you! We're generating vast amounts of data every day. We use this data to inform everything we do: ensure balance in the marketplace, identify ways to continually make the Uber experience better for earners and riders, deploy incentives and promotions, understand customer behavior, develop and launch new product offerings, and more. Strategic Operations Associates are responsible for developing strategies, such as how we balance our marketplace, target and deploy earner promotions, manage local markets, and identify and solve operational weaknesses. They balance improving or innovating new processes with setting and delivering on goals to meet business needs. ### What You’ll Do Strategic Ownership: Help develop, lead, and implement strategy to achieve business priorities Business Influence: Monitor, understand, and interpret key operational and financial metrics to help figure out strategy and action plans. Develop and apply understanding of the levers that move our business Problem Solving: Identify the root cause of risks and opportunities, propose multiple, practical solutions, and weigh tradeoffs to recommend best approach Process Optimization: Implement, optimize, and scale core analyses and processes, regularly reviewing performance Product Improvement: Proactively search for new features or improvements that could improve the experience on and efficiency of our marketplace, measure their impact and collaborate with Product teams to implement launches Stakeholder Management: Maintain productive working relationships with immediate team and cross-functional partners across operations, marketing, customer support, product, policy, and legal to scope, test and implement initiatives ### Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree required 1+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, business intelligence, strategy or related experience Excel proficiency (modeling, data visualization) ### Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge in applying SQL, Python, R, Stata or similar statistical languages and tools High-growth operations or startup experience is strongly preferred Phenomenal collaborator, and someone who proactively works across teams, able to influence senior and external stakeholders Storytelling through Data: Transform data analyses into an understandable storyline across tech and non-tech audiences in order to influence business decisions Data-Driven Mentality: Make strategic decisions based on data analysis and interpretation. Experience getting in the weeds of data, balanced with the ability to see the big picture Communication: Ability to interpret and present data to various audiences in an engaging and comprehensive, yet succinct manner Teamwork: Demonstrate optimism, respect others, and promote a team environment where individuals can communicate and contribute freely. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and responsibilities. Maintains healthy working relationships, even in disagreement Executional Excellence: Ability to work and accomplish multiple tasks in parallel, delivering results in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, while maintaining high-quality work standards Planning & Organization: Ability to create detailed project plans with project stages, milestones, basic interdependencies, and owners ## Responsibilities ### For New York City, NY-based roles The base salary range for this role is USD $106,000 per year - USD $118,000 per year. ### For Washington, DC-based roles For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
