You'll have the room to grow, the flexibility to balance life with work, and the opportunity to better health worldwide, together. ## Our Team, Your Impact The primary responsibility is to manage medical information and communication for assigned products marketed by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, Ltd. by providing oversight for the prompt, accurate, and scientifically and medically balanced responses to unsolicited medically-related inquiries from internal and external customers. The responsible individual will collaborate with other North America Medical Affairs (NAMA) colleagues and work closely with key members of internal departments including, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Global Health Economics, Value and Outcomes (Global HEVO), Clinical Research, Market Access / Managed Markets, Sales, and Sales Training to provide medical support for development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of ongoing medically-related activities related to Teva’s branded marketed product(s). All policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and related documents should be followed accordingly. ## How You’ll Spend Your Day Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain a library of standard medical response documents (ie, standard response letters, frequently asked questions [FAQs]) for use in response to medical and product -related inquiries from healthcare professionals and consumers * Conduct medical/scientific review of all materials and concepts used in promotion of Teva’s branded products and sales training materials. This review is done in collaboration with Legal and Regulatory members (PARC, Promotional Advertising Review Committee) to ensure that all promotional material (sales detail aid, slide decks, websites, patient materials, etc.) meet the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Regulations and guidance documents, as well as high ethical standards * Provide direction and guidance to external Contact Center staff on handling of unsolicited requests received in the Medical Information Contact Center and provide FAQs and unique responses as necessary * Serve as a mentor and resource to other medical information staff members, including external Medical Information Contact Center specialists * Respond verbally to inquiries from healthcare professionals and consumers as necessary * Review cases received in the Contact Center and identify training needs related to knowledge about Teva product(s), related programs and disease state information * Assist management with Quality Control activities and monitoring of phone calls from the external Contact Center to ensure responses are accurate, complete, and compliant with Teva policies, procedures and Work Instructions * Provide Medical/Scientific review of all activities submitted through Teva Healthcare Interactions Portal (HIP) involving payment to external healthcare professionals * Take responsibility as the primary point of contact for medical review of materials used in external communications (press releases, announcements, etc.), and coordinates review with USMA therapeutic area Medical Director, Global Medical Director, USMA and GMA management * Assist with medical review of formulary dossiers developed by GHEOV department and manage their distribution through the external Contact Center * Assist with development, review and/or maintenance of product and disease-related slide kits in collaboration with other Medical Affairs personnel * Provide medical support for Marketing and Sales Training departments (eg, development of promotional and/or sales training materials for advisory boards, consultant, and speaker training meetings) including working directly with their respective vendors * Provide medical information support at medical/scientific conferences * Provide strategic input and support to the NAMA Medical Team(s) and Medical Affairs Operating Plan(s) for assigned products * Assist with review of product labeling and/or monographs for inclusion in compendia (ie, PDR, Drug Facts and Comparison, NCCN Guidelines, AHFS-DI, Medical Letter, etc.) * Prepare and participate in medical and scientific presentations for internal (eg, sales training, new product launch) or external (e.g., managed care organizations) purposes * Assist in the overall development and management of the department * Demonstrate independence and initiative to develop and implement solutions Travel Requirements: Approximately 20% ## Your Skills and Experience Position Requirements: Education Required: R.Ph. or R.N. with 5 or more years of experience in medical information or related area involving writing, communication and scientific skills (e.g., Clinical Research, Scientific Communications, Medical Science Liaison) M.S., Pharm.D., Ph.D. with 3 or more years of experience in medical information or relatedarea involving writing, communication and scientific skills (e.g., Clinical Research, Scientific Communications, Medical Science Liaison) Experience Required: Three-five years of experience in medical information or related area involving writing, communication and scientific skills * Displays proficiency with computer applications, particularly MS Office Suite; familiarity with navigating the internet and use of search engines * Attention to detail and documentation * Scientific expertise in assigned therapeutic area(s) * Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills are essential * Adequate knowledge and experience with computer programs and database systems * Strong working knowledge of the FDA Code of Federal Regulations and guidance documents Experience Preferred: Experience with review of promotional materials is preferred; readily adapts to a new task or responsibility * Problem Solving: * Ability to answer product questions based on possible drug interactions, allergic reactions, or side effects * Provide solutions to problems that other inter-company departments may encounter which would require medical or product information input * Provide literature searches to address medical information from on-line resources * Negotiation skills to achieve an acceptable outcome and balance various viewpoints and goals * Technical: * Demonstrates understanding and adherence to regulatory, legal, and compliance aspects of pharmaceutical industry interactions with external customers * Demonstrates a working knowledge of the pharmaceutical products, including indication, pharmacology, contraindications, warnings and precautions, adverse events, dosing and administration, and dosage forms * Demonstrates astute knowledge of resources to obtain medical and drug information, including use of medical literature and tertiary database search engines to identify relevant citations to address unsolicited queries * Demonstrates the ability to evaluate abstracts and articles for relevance to disease state or product information * Demonstrates the ability to review and evaluate articles in-depth to assess their value to questions from healthcare providers * Demonstrates the ability to understand nature of inquiries, identify an adverse drug reaction, medication error or other safety-related information, and how the data and statements relate to the TEVA product line ## Salary Range The annual starting salary for this position is between $120,320 - $150,400 annually.
