Follows proper protocol and associated paperwork for servicing malfunctioning equipment. Inputs charges in computer system. Obtains patient history for each examination from patient and/or chart. Documents examination information completely and accurately to appropriate medical personnel by using examination worksheets, written preliminary reports when needed and/or verbal notification Utilizes periodic QC and preventative maintenance and proficiency in proper patient positioning to achieve best examination results. Explains the ultrasound process to each patient prior to the examination. Verifies proper patient identification using patient armband. Uses equipment i.e. phones, faxes, copiers, information systems. Ensures proper protocol for filing and copying ultrasound examinations. Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Special Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiological and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and staff. Proficient with general operating procedures, i.e. start up procedures, calibration of equipment, troubleshooting and problem solving Minimum Requirements: Education: Completion of formal ultrasound technology training which meets requirements for certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. ### Experience One to two years of experience using ultrasound and vascular technology under the direction of an appropriate specialty physician is necessary. ### Licensure/Certifications American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Certified or certified eligible.
