The LC must have the ability to lead and motivate professional and ancillary staff to develop their breastfeeding practice, knowledge and skill base, while coordinating with other members of the health care team to ensure quality patient care. LC will support plans, programs and schedules as directed by the lead lactation consultant. ### EDUCATION - Minimum: Graduate of an RN program Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years clinical experience - Must have advanced knowledge of perinatal nursing practices, anatomy and physiology, pregnancy, labor, birth, lactation, infant care and clinical breastfeeding issues Able to demonstrate exceptional communication, collaboration, teamwork and flexibility - Serves as role model for delivery of excellent patient care and customer service REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION *Other Qualifications: Current Certification by International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLC) ### Current Florida RN License American Heart Association BLS; NRP #LI-YQ1 Organization Description West Boca Medical Center (WBMC) is part of the Palm Beach Health Network and has been serving southern Palm Beach and northern Broward counties for over 37 years. WBMC offers general medical and surgical care, orthopedics, a robotic surgery program, a state-of-the art breast imaging center, womens and childrens services and the only level III NICU in southern Palm Beach County. Its two emergency centers, one at the main hospital and the other in Coconut Creek, are open 24-hours a day. Join our team!
