Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assist surgeon during operative and improvement activities. Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions, and assists patient during procedure. Renders specialized patient care to patients in the Women’s Center, Special Care Nursery, Nursery, and Labor and Delivery Department, in support of medical care as directed by medical staff and pursuant to objectives and policies of the hospital. Work encompasses direct and indirect patient care and collaboration with other disciplines involved in the provision of care. ### Qualifications Minimum Education: Certified Scrub Tech Minimum Experience: None Required Certification: BLS Required Licensure: None #LI-AP1 Organization Description Nacogdoches Medical Center has been serving the East Texas community for nearly 50 yearswith a focus on caring for patients and a strong team environment. Service lines at the hospital include obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology (including a cath lab and electrophysiology capabilities), cancer care, neuroscience (Brainlab technology and stroke treatments) and weight loss surgery.
