This position requires participation in a guided training and development program alinged to the scope outlines by the State-specific Board of Nursing. ### Responsibilities The Nurse Extern role is designed to provide expanded clinical experience for RN nursing students and to assist the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities, which includes participating in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, as well as reporting significant observations toa Registered Nurse. ### Qualifications Education Required: Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program, and upon completion of first clinical rotation. ### Experience Required: None. ### Certifications Required AHA BLS #LI-NR1 Organization Description We help people achieve health for life through compassionate service inspired by faith.Since the early 1920s, Valley Baptist Medical Center hospitals have been involved in the community, caring for the health and spiritual needs of people in the Rio Grande Valley.
