## Job description

### TCS Hiring for Mainframe Modernization Architect Location

Pan India Exp: 10-15 years Seeking a Mainframe Modernization Architect with 10-15 years of Mainframe experience and strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS, driving large-scale legacy modernization and cloud transformation initiatives. Proven experience in assessing mainframe applications and databases, defining modernization strategies, and recommending the optimal approach including Rehost, Re-platform, Refactor, Re-Architect, or Replace.

Strong knowledge of IBM Mainframe technologies, with exposure to REXX, IMS, SAS on z/OS, and expertise in application transformation, integration patterns, and modernization frameworks. Hands-on experience in migrating legacy databases such as DB2 and IMS to modern platforms including PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability. Broad understanding of Application Architecture, Front-end Systems, Middleware, APIs, Security, Data Architecture, and Cloud Migration across on-premises and cloud environments.

Experience providing solutions for non-compatible technology stacks, implementing automation, and establishing CI/CD pipelines to accelerate modernization programs. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, documentation, and collaboration skills; experience in Healthcare, Insurance, or BFSI domains and cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect are preferred.
