This newly established role represents an exciting opportunity to build STERIS’s local technical service capabilities while working closely with our authorized distributors and healthcare customers. The Field Service Engineer will provide technical expertise in the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and application support of STERIS equipment across Operating Rooms (OR), Central Sterile Supply Departments (CSSD), and Endoscopy Units. This role will serve as a key technical resource, supporting distributor service teams, resolving complex technical issues, delivering product training, and collaborating with global technical support teams to ensure consistent service quality and customer satisfaction. As STERIS Taiwan continues to grow, this position offers excellent opportunities for professional development, advanced technical training, and expanded responsibilities within a growing organization. ### What You Will Do Provide technical support for STERIS medical equipment, including installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical consultation across Operating Rooms (OR), Central Sterile Supply Departments (CSSD), and Endoscopy Units. Diagnose equipment issues through systematic troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime and ensure customer satisfaction. Support authorized distributors with equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and complex service cases to enhance local service capability and maintain consistent service quality. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, calibration, and performance verification in accordance with STERIS quality and service standards. Support new equipment installations, site surveys, project preparation, customer acceptance activities, and end-user training to ensure successful equipment implementation. Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to distributor service teams, customers, and internal stakeholders when required. Collaborate with regional STERIS technical support teams to resolve complex technical issues, implement field corrective actions, and continuously improve service quality. Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and distributor teams to provide technical support for customer meetings, product demonstrations, tender projects, and business development activities. Maintain accurate service documentation, including service reports, customer service records, equipment installation base, diagnostic updates, spare parts inventory, and other required reports. Manage service tools, spare parts, and resources effectively to ensure efficient field service execution and timely customer support. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and internal teams by providing professional communication, proactive follow-up, and solutions that exceed customer expectations.. Maintain compliance with customer site requirements, health and safety protocols, and company procedures while continuously developing technical expertise through STERIS training programs and ongoing learning opportunities. The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or relevant discipline. Experience in repairing medical, laboratory and healthcare equipment in hospitals. Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to find, rectify, and anticipate defects in equipment. Basic Network knowledge Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Meticulous with strong problem solving and communication skill. Enhanced English proficiency to comprehend operation and service manuals, as well as to communicate effectively with others.
