## Job description

Interested in how banks are regulated and held accountable? Are you curious about how financial institutions operate within a highly regulated environment? Do you have an interest in UK banking regulation, governance and the rules that help maintain trust in the financial system? We're looking for a motivated and inquisitive Trainee to join our Regulatory & Compliance Oversight team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a specialist compliance function, working on regulatory governance, compliance risk management, regulatory change and the UK's Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR).

### What You'll Be Doing

As a Trainee, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of regulatory and governance activities, including: Monitoring and analysing regulatory developments from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and other industry bodies. Supporting projects relating to regulatory change and implementation. Assisting with the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR) and other regulatory governance obligations.

Helping coordinate governance meetings and committees, including preparing materials and tracking actions. Supporting compliance risk assessments, reporting and management information. Assisting with the maintenance of policies, procedures and compliance documentation. Contributing to training and awareness initiatives across the business. Working with a variety of stakeholders across business and support functions. You'll develop practical experience in: UK banking regulation Regulatory governance and oversight Compliance risk management Regulatory change management Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR) Policy and procedure management Corporate governance Stakeholder management and professional communication You'll work alongside experienced compliance professionals and gain valuable insight into how financial institutions interact with regulators and manage regulatory obligations.
