West Point Mill is seeking an hourly Mechanical Maintenance with the ability to provide primary millwright skills for the West Point Mill.

### How you will impact Smurfit Westrock
- Participate in all department safety programs.
- Flexibility to work in a multi-craft role and contribute to accomplishing results in a team- based environment.
- Good understanding of the types and application of equipment lubrication.
- Effective troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to read and understand equipment manuals & drawings.
- Ability to properly document repairs and inspections.
- Computer skills adequate to look up bill of materials & stores parts, enter work results, and complete work orders.
- Good working knowledge of rigging equipment and techniques.
- Ability to measure, lay out, and fabricate repair parts.

### What you need to succeed

For a Class 1 Helper:
- Five years of relevant industrial experience at a journeyman mechanic’s level, or
- Two-year technical degree in mechanical technology, or four years’ relevant technical military experience
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability and willingness to work shift work.

### For a Class A Journeyman
- Ten years of relevant industrial experience at a journeyman mechanics or electrician/instrumentation level - or
- Five years of relevant industrial or military experience and a two-year technical degree

We offer a clear, structured path for career advancement with competitive pay:

### Class 1 Helper
- $33.79/hour. Promotion to Class C possible within 9-13 months based on performance.

### Class C
- $35.89/hour. Eligible for Class B after 6 months.

### Class B
- $37.42/hour. Promotion to Class A after 12 months.

### Class A
- $42.62/hour. Final step to Class AAA ($45.86/hour) based on tenure and qualifications.

### Total Progression Time

2.25-2.5 years (27-31 months) from Class 1 Helper to Class A. Grow your career and earnings with us! Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
