The Opportunity When you join Smurfit Westrock, you will be joining a team that creates sustainable paper and packaging solutions that help move the world forward. As a Production Line Leader, you will be responsible for leading daily production line operations within our Assembly and Contract Packaging facility, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency goals are achieved. You will work closely with production team members, temporary associates, warehouse personnel, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to deliver exceptional results for our customers. This role offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills while directly impacting operational performance and customer satisfaction. How You Will Make an Impact Lead production line setup and execution by utilizing work orders, line diagrams, and established operating procedures to ensure efficient production flow. Coordinate line staffing, train temporary associates on job specific responsibilities, and provide day-to-day direction to support productivity and quality goals. Monitor production performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and recommend process improvements to maximize line efficiency and output. Ensure inventory accuracy by managing customer product and component usage, tracking materials, and reconciling production requirements. Verify product quality through routine inspections and adherence to customer specifications, SOPs, and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs). Collaborate with warehouse, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to resolve issues and support continuous production operations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while ensuring compliance with all company safety programs, policies, and procedures. What You Need to Succeed ### Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to effectively communicate with team members, temporary associates, and management. Ability to interpret written instructions, production schedules, work orders, and diagrams. Basic math skills and the ability to accurately complete production documentation. Ability to work independently and within a team environment in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Ability to perform detail-oriented work while managing multiple priorities and production deadlines. Fluency in English, both verbal and written. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as required. Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed. ### Preferred Qualifications Previous experience leading or coordinating production, assembly, packaging, or manufacturing operations. Experience working with temporary staffing teams in a production environment. Experience with production reporting systems or manufacturing software. Knowledge of inventory control, quality processes, CGMPs, or standard operating procedures. Experience participating in continuous improvement, process optimization, or operational excellence initiatives. The starting rate for this position is $22.50 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location. Benefits for this role may include short term bonus incentives, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, paid sick leave as required by applicable state and local laws, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 paid holidays, subject to annual change. Actual compensation will be based on work location and factors such as skills, experience, and education.
