We are seeking a Software Engineering Intern to work on the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) International programs as part of the Software Engineering department at our Fort Wayne, Indiana office site. This is an excellent opportunity for a student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related course of study to join the fast-paced and exciting Raytheon/Collins team. Success in this position will enhance the reach of the AFATDS International family of products throughout the world. The successful candidate is expected to work in a team environment under the guidance of a team leader to develop implementation of software requirements for various Fire Support Command and Control (C2) software products, including, but not limited to, the transition of the AFATDS legacy code base to a modern software architecture. This is an onsite position located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. - Implement AFATDS software capabilities for new and/or updated requirements - Identify, analyze, and remedy bugs in the existing AFATDS software Pathfind and execute the transformation of the AFATDS codebase to a modern software architecture - Work with a technical mentor utilizing a defined project plan and milestones What You Will Learn Working in a team environment Experience working on disciplined engineering challenges and tasks Experience in various work assignment Developing Fire Support C2 software in Ada and Java Qualifications You Must Have - Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
