Using a push/pull system, we treat customers’ coiled sheets of carbon-steel with hydrochloric acid, cleaning the product of rust, scale, & debris. After a fresh-water rinse & rust preventative is applied, we re-coil the steel and package it per the customers’ specifications for shipment. Your primary duty, as an Indiana Pickling Employee is to ensure the customer receives their material in the best condition possible, while working as efficiently as you safely can. The following are general expectations of the entry-level job classes, and are not all-encompassing. Also, the Entry Laborer is to inspect the steel and report to the appropriate person(s) any condition (tar, sample burns, grease, damage, etc.) which may affect the quality of the product to the customer. The Entry Laborer is responsible for good housekeeping in his work area. ### Exit Labor The Exit Laborer is to band and package steel coils for removal and subsequent shipment to the customer. Also, this individual is to observe the steel for any quality defects & notify the Exit Operator and Quality Inspector. The Exit Laborer is responsible for good housekeeping in his work area. ### Required Skills High School Diploma or GED required. Must be able to pass a background check & drug test. Union Facility – International Longshoreman Association Local 2038 [IPPC Division].
