Responsible for referring appropriate cases for hierarchical review. Perform all duties in accordance with state and federal regulations. Maintains appropriate workload and quality assurance records. Provide backup for cytology processing and other tasks as needed. ### Qualifications Required Knowledge: Liquid-based morphology certification: ThinPrep, TIS Review Scope, Surepath, and Focal Point. A Hologic Genius certification is highly desirable for this position, although not required. Must be able to provide certificates upon request. ### Required Experience Meet CLIA requirements (CFR.493.1483). Meet state licensure requirements, if applicable. Meet ASCP requirements for Cytotechnologist Graduated from an accredited Cytology program Special Requirements: B achelor’s degree in biological science Completion of a Cytology program ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification Must be willing to work extra days/weekends as dictated by business need. Must be able to sit for long periods of time as there is minimal job rotation with this position. ### Physical and Mental Requirements The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity. 68755 Quest Diagnostics honors our service members and encourages veterans to apply.
