This entry‑level role is perfect for someone who’s keen to learn underwriting from the bottom up. You’ll learn Builders Warranty underwriting in a supportive environment, starting with core administrative and customer support tasks. Along the way, you’ll build a strong foundation in financial analysis and risk concepts while working closely with brokers and homeowners. With autonomy and flexibility built into the role, you can focus on doing great work, developing your skills, and maintaining a healthy work/life balance. Your new role As an Assistant Underwriter you’ll be the first point of contact for brokers and homeowners, as well as supporting the team with admin tasks while learning the fundamentals of underwriting. Working closely with the Underwriting team, you will also: - Investigate and resolve client queries promptly - Maintain up-to-date product, system, and process knowledge - Attend relevant training courses and share insights with the team Ensure all underwriting activities comply with business and regulatory requirements About you To be successful as an Assistant Underwriter you will have an interest in the insurance and/or building industry and will be looking for an opportunity to develop your career with a well known Australian brand. You’re highly organised and customer-focused, have a keen eye for details and are eager to learn. You will also have: A working knowledge of Builders Warranty and/or insurance experience preferred but not essential Strong numeracy and ability to analyse financial data Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills Problem-solving capability and a sound grasp of business and risk concepts Experience in customer-centric roles and confidence interacting with stakeholders A growth mindset and willingness to develop underwriting expertise Benefits We offer a range of benefits to help provide holistic support for your work life, whatever your circumstances.
