Your Opportunity Starts Here. ### Role Purpose Lead and oversee the Business Control Management function within International Wealth, ensuring a strong risk and control environment across sales governance, client onboarding, regulatory compliance, operational risk management, and conduct oversight. Partner closely with business, compliance, risk, and audit stakeholders to drive a culture of accountability, integrity, and effective risk management. ### Key Responsibilities Risk & Control Management Lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the business control framework across International Wealth. Identify, assess, and mitigate key business, operational, conduct, and regulatory risks. Oversee control testing, thematic reviews, and surveillance activities to proactively identify control weaknesses and recommend remediation actions. Monitor the effectiveness of key controls and ensure timely resolution of identified gaps. Governance & Regulatory Compliance Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance standards. Provide oversight on client onboarding processes, including KYC, AML/CFT, suitability, and sales conduct controls. Act as a key liaison with Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and external regulators where required. Oversee regulatory, audit, and compliance reviews, ensuring timely closure of findings and action plans. Surveillance & Conduct Oversight Drive surveillance and monitoring programmes to identify potential conduct, sales practice, and regulatory breaches. Provide independent challenge and escalation of emerging risks and control concerns. Oversee investigations and root cause analyses of control incidents and regulatory breaches. Risk Culture & Training Promote a strong risk and compliance culture across the International Wealth business. Lead risk awareness initiatives, training programmes, and workshops to strengthen employee understanding of regulatory and control requirements. Provide advisory support to business leaders on risk and control-related matters. Stakeholder Management & Reporting Prepare and present risk and control updates to senior management and governance committees. Develop management reports, dashboards, and presentations on key risk indicators, control effectiveness, and emerging risks. Establish strong partnerships with Wealth Management leadership, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and other control functions. ### Experience & Qualifications Degree in Banking, Finance, Business, Risk Management, Law, or a related discipline. Minimum 10–15 years of relevant banking experience, with significant exposure to Risk Management, Compliance, Business Control, Audit, or Governance functions. Strong understanding of Wealth Management, Private Banking, AML/KYC requirements, conduct risk, and regulatory expectations. Experience managing regulatory reviews, surveillance programmes, audit engagements, and remediation initiatives. Prior people leadership experience is preferred. ### Competencies Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. Ability to challenge constructively while maintaining strong business partnerships. Strong presentation, report-writing, and communication skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. Self-driven, resilient, and able to operate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. ### Preferred Experience Experience in FAA governance, sales conduct surveillance, AML/CFT controls, regulatory compliance, and audit management.
