This will require clear communications with teammates in the Melt Shop and may include contractors at times. This position will be responsible for assisting the Ladle Person in all areas of responsibility. This position will work in an extremely hot environment. The Ladle Person Assistant will be expected to work nights, weekends, holidays, and cover shift when needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. ### Minimum Requirements 6 months of refractory or Melt Shop experience Detailed Selection Criteria: Teamwork: Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal. ### Accountability Displays responsibility with work habits and has ability to hold others accountable for desired results. ### Initiative Being proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges. ### Communication The ability to give full attention to what others are saying and communicating information so that others will understand. ### Dependability Being reliable, responsible, and committed to fulfilling obligations. ### Mechanical Knowledge Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and/or maintenance. ### Judgment/Decision Making Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
