## Job description

Newmont Suriname was established in 2004 as an entity of Newmont Mining Corporation and is headquartered in Paramaribo, Suriname. Located in South America, Suriname was originally settled as a Dutch colony, is very culturally diverse and enjoys a tropical climate. The Merian Project is located approximately 60 km south of Moengo in a largely undeveloped part of the country with the nearest permanent settlement, Langa Tabiki, approximately 17 km east from the Project site.

Strong support from host communities and the government of Suriname strengthen Merian's ability to deliver safe, profitable production with significant upside potential and opportunity for employees, host communities and shareholders. Dimensions Purpose To support informed financial decision-making by providing accurate financial reports and maintaining comprehensive data records.

### Essential Duties

Prepare and report financial statements accurately and timely to support decision-making processes. Collate and reconcile financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness of records. Monitor budget expenditures and provide regular updates to partners to maintain financial control. Assist in processing invoices and payments while adhering to company policies and procedures. Support month-end and year-end closing activities by completing required financial tasks.

Collaborate with team members to maintain financial databases and filing systems efficiently. Administer financial transactions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Provide detailed financial reports and summaries to assist partners in evaluating business performance. Schedule and coordinate financial audits by liaising with internal and external parties. Maintain and update financial records to support ongoing financial analysis and reporting.

### Training & Experience Knowledge

Note that the primary skills discussed include financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and data interpretation. Considering the analytical and detail-oriented aspect of the role, the accepted body of knowledge, such as formal education qualifications in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration, should be taken into account to support these activities within your organization. Include required knowledge that has been gained through work practice with financial reporting standards, financial modeling, and relevant software tools.

Essential soft skills for leadership and support functions should be included. Ensure that proficiency in these knowledge areas, including accuracy, compliance, and analyticalreasoning, is clearly described.

### Technical skills

Note that the primary skills discussed include financial analysis, data interpretation, and reporting. For this mid-level role, the applicant must demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in these areas. Identify practical application proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis that best supports these activities within your organization. The role also necessitates familiarity with financial software and spreadsheet tools, including the ability to carry out data manipulation and generate reports using appropriate tools and processes to achieve defined business outcomes.
