Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time. ### Who We Are We are the JavaScript Foundations (JSF) team in Warsaw. We are key partners in building the "UI Paved Road" at Netflix, operating within a global, virtual organisation that shepherds JavaScript across the entire company — from the browser to Node.js services powering our studio and streaming systems. Our Mission Our product isn't a single app — it’s the developer experience itself. While our sibling teams focus on specific layers of the stack — Node.js Platform on server runtime, UI DevEx on browser runtime, and Design Systems on visual components — we tackle the foundational language-level challenges that unify them all. We own the strategy for dependency management, supply chain security, and TypeScript, ensuring the ecosystem remains healthy, secure, and modern across both browser and server. Why It Matters At our scale — serving hundreds of millions members — "foundational" means high-impact. Whether it’s automating annual Node.js LTS migrations for thousands of services or defining the patterns for how we share code across the fleet, we measure our success by the collective velocity of every UI engineer at Netflix. We tackle language-level problems so they can focus on entertaining the world. ### About This Role - Deeply understand how developers use JavaScript at Netflix to create the optimal solutions and abstractions for their use cases, and to help drive and evolve recommended practices - Collaborate with teams internally and in the JavaScript community to shepherd and evolve the JavaScript vision at Netflix - Provide and integrate libraries, tools, or workflows that enable developers to build JavaScript software efficiently - Reconcile the needs of our internal ecosystem against the trends of the external ecosystem - Define and improve the dependency management, packaging, and publishing story for Node.js - Address complex architectural problems with simple, intuitive designs - Drive adoption of new technology into existing complex systems ### Excelling In This Role - You collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholder groups: customers, partners, and the external JavaScript community - You build and maintain strong relationships across stakeholder groups through continuous feedback loops to ensure high alignment in our investments - You create clarity and drive alignment across stakeholder groups on technical and non-technical initiatives - You are a curious and proactive learner that seeks to minimize assumptions and seeks to deeply understand before writing code or taking action - You thrive in an ambiguous environment and can self-manage and self-prioritize your time, energy, and resources - You are a storyteller and can weave a narrative joining the Netflix ecosystem with the external ecosystem The team anchors on the human-facing elements of technology.
