In addition to a starting wage of $59.64 per hour, we offer excellent benefits including medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k) plan, vacation, tuition assistance and more. Under direct supervision, to do all types of work involved in the construction, rearrangement, operation and maintenance of either transmission or distribution circuits which require the use of a complete set of hot line tools. Perform all the duties of a Line Mechanic C as required. ### Job Qualifications Must be a qualified Journeyman Lineman with a minimum of at least five and half years experience as a lineman ( may need to provide proof with journeyman card) Must have successfully completed the Company prescribed training and have qualified in the use of a complete set of hot line tools. Must pass physical abilities examination; Must pass validated aptitude test. Must have CDL A A good knowledge of the transmission and distribution systems in the area to which the employee is assigned. Ability and willingness to work around hazardous/heavy equipment and energized electrical equipment. Ability and willingness to wear and use safety equipment as required by Company safety rules and federal, state and local regulations. Ability and willingness to travel to various Company locations and remote job sites. Ability and willingness to work different schedules, on holidays and weekends and overtime as required. Ability and willingness to work in a variety of work environments including all weather conditions, at elevated heights (above 30 feet) and in confined spaces. * See applicable wage schedules. ### NOTE In accordance with the Labor Agreement extension, this position is eligible to be classified as a Day Worker or Scheduled Worker. ### Salary $59.64/Hr National Grid will not be providing visa sponsorship for this position now or in the future. You must have the ability to work without a need for current or future visa sponsorship. Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions. Many of the terms and conditions of employment for this position are defined by a collective bargaining agreement that the Company has with a local union. Newly hired employees are bound by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement as well as other agreements between the Company and the local union.
