## Job description

Production Worker – Nehring Electrical Works Company

### Job Summary

The Production Worker supports wire manufacturing operations by assisting with the production, processing, and inspection of wire products. This role helps ensure products meet quality standards while maintaining safety, efficiency, and production goals.

### Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor wire manufacturing equipment such as wire drawing, stranding, extrusion, spooling, and cutting machines
- Load raw materials (wire rods, reels, spools) into production equipment
- Measure wire diameter, length, and tolerances using gauges and measuring tools
- Inspect finished wire products for defects such as breaks, surface flaws, or dimensional issues
- Package, label, and move finished wire reels or coils
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
- Perform basic machine adjustments, cleaning, and routine maintenance
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements
- Keep work area clean and organized (5S standards)
- Communicate production issues, equipment malfunctions, or quality concerns to supervisors

### Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Manufacturing experience preferred; wire, metal, or extrusion experience a plus
- Ability to read work orders, production schedules, and basic technical documents
- Basic math skills and ability to use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

### Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Handle repetitive tasks and manual material handling
- Ability to work around moving machinery and rotating equipment

### Work Environment
- Industrial manufacturing environment
- Exposure to noise, heat, metal shavings, lubricants, and machinery
- Shift work, overtime, or weekend work may be required
