Role in MSGR Tech team is responsible for the design and development of Java-based applications. In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. Morgan Stanley's Fund Services (FS) Department, a wholly owned subsidiary (MSFS), provides comprehensive fund administration through a globally accessible technology platform Within FS, the MSGR team manages trade-date reconciliation between Fund Books (MSPA), counterparty custodians, and client positions, supporting the Prime Brokerage and Fund Services business units. Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world. ### What you'll do in the role Lead design, development, and delivery of scalable reporting and analytics solutions for a greenfield project, including build-vs-buy analysis and POCs. Architect solutions using Java, Angular, and related technologies, adhering to SDLC best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and align solutions with business objectives. Drive adoption of GenAI and AI-assisted development practices across design, coding, review, and testing. Mentor engineering talent and foster a culture of technical excellence. Manage stakeholder communication and proactively address project risks. Promote agile methodologies, automated testing, and CI/CD practices. ### What you'll bring to the role 10–14 years of software engineering experience, with strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot, REST APIs). Sound knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and SDLC practices. Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise-scale applications. Working knowledge of additional languages/frameworks (Python, SQL, etc.). Practical experience applying GenAI/AI tools in development, testing, or automation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proven leadership of high-performing teams in a global environment.
