The Opportunity The Senior Accounting Assistant is responsible for performing daily accounting functions to support both incoming and outgoing money processes. Functions may include completeness control reconciliations, data entry of wires, processing misdirected money, disbursement of outgoing money, etc. The position will also contain suspense reconciliations. Assistance with cash reconciliation as needed. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial operations by analyzing, reconciling, and resolving transactions that directly support the movement and reporting of customer and business funds. This role offers a unique opportunity to build expertise in insurance operations and accounting while making a visible impact on financial accuracy, process improvement, and customer outcomes in a collaborative, flexible work environment with opportunities for growth and cross-functional partnership. ### Key Responsibilities Analyze and reconcile financial transactions, cash activity, and suspense accounts to ensure accuracy and data integrity. Process incoming and outgoing money transactions, including wires, disbursements, and misdirected funds, in accordance with established procedures. Investigate and resolve discrepancies, outstanding items, and reconciliation exceptions to maintain accurate financial records. Maintain general ledger accounts. Develop and enhance accounting processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency, controls, and compliance. ### Required Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalent Strong collaboration and customer-focused mindset when partnering across teams Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies ### Preferred Qualifications Preferred: - Bachelor’s Degree Positive and professional attitude - Strong attention to detail - Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, handle complexity, and meet deadlines 1 – 3 years Annuity, Life, or IDI Operations experience 1 plus years of Accounting experience The expected salary range for this position is $41,600 - $50,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
