## Job description

Meta is seeking an experienced public policy professional to join the Korea public policy team. This is a hybrid role spanning policy programs — designing and delivering initiatives that advance Meta's policy objectives and demonstrate our contribution to Korea's digital economy — and regulatory issues, leading engagement on the legislative and regulatory matters that most affect our products and the people who use them in Korea.

The person in this role will operate with a high degree of autonomy, act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional partners, and represent Meta credibly with senior external stakeholders. This is an individual contributor role that calls for sound judgment in navigating ambiguous policy situations, demonstrated through prior experience managing politically sensitive issues in a fast-moving and politically complex environment.

## Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze and advise on Korean legislative and regulatory developments affecting Meta's products, including platform regulation, competition, content governance, privacy and data, AI, and telecommunications
- Develop and execute engagement strategies with the National Assembly, ministries, and regulators, and articulate Meta's positions clearly and persuasively
- Provide timely risk assessments and recommendations to product, legal, communications, and regional leadership, and translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable internal guidance Draft submissions, position papers, briefing materials, and talking points for internal and external audiences in both

### Korean and English
- Design, launch and manage policy programs and partnerships supporting Meta's objectives in Korea, working with government bodies, academia, industry associations, small businesses and civil society organizations
- Own program strategy, budget, delivery, and measurement, and demonstrate impact to internal and external stakeholders
- Build and sustain a network of coalitions and third-party voices, and identify opportunities to advance shared policy goals
- Partner with regional and global policy colleagues to keep Korean positions consistent with Meta's global approach, and represent Korean market realities in global policy development
- Work with communications, legal, partnership, and product teams to align external engagement with company priorities Represent Meta at industry forums, government consultations, conferences, and public events

## Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in public policy, government relations, regulatory affairs, public affairs consulting, law, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated experience in engaging with Korean government, regulators, or the National Assembly, and working knowledge of Korea's policymaking and legislative processes Professional fluency in Korean and English is required because the role involves direct engagement with Korean policy stakeholders and coordination with global English-speaking teams, with proven ability to write, present, and negotiate at a senior level
- Proven track record of independently leading complex, ambiguous policy issues to a resolution, and of influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority Experience designing and delivering policy programs or external partnerships, including budget and stakeholder management
- Demonstrated analytical and written communication skills, with experience translating technical or legal details into clear recommendations
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Experience working across a matrixed, global organization and in a distributed team across time zones Substantive expertise in one or more of: platform regulation, competition, AI governance, privacy and data protection, content policy, or telecommunications
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) Experience in the technology industry or at a multinational company operating in a regulated environment
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies Advanced degree in law, public policy, political science, communications, or a related field Experience in government, a political office, or a regulatory body Experience at a public affairs, government relations or strategic communications consultancy
