Responsibilities may include the following and other duties as assigned: - Evaluates, selects, and orders equipment that is most appropriate and cost-effective for the manufacture of company products. - Oversees the installation, qualification, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. - Maintains current records on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues. - Studies equipment performance and reliability. - Establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and resolving equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process. - Provides technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering teams. - Manages spare parts to ensure availability for equipment maintenance and repair while minimizing downtime. - Defines and writes preventative maintenance schedules. - Provides training to production personnel, technicians, and engineers. - Leads or participates in development, training, qualification, and validation activities for product or technology transfers. - Designs machine layouts within plant facilities to optimize efficiency and productivity. - Partners with Manufacturing Engineers to set up equipment and bring it to the required operating parameters. ### Required Knowledge and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline. - Minimum 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in medical devices or other regulated industries. - Hands-on experience in manufacturing equipment installation, setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance. - Hands-on experience using Minitab for data analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation. - Experience in Lean Six Sigma methodology and continuous improvement programs. - Strong written and verbal proficiency in English and Malay. - Willingness and ability to travel internationally for extended periods, typically 2 to 6 months or longer depending on training needs. ### Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting radio frequency (RF) equipment, molding-machine setup, ovens, coating machines, sealers, or bench-top equipment with rotating or moving mechanical parts. - Practical knowledge of project management is a plus.
