## Job description

### Description

The Asphalt Sales Representative is responsible for sales of construction asphalt in the St Louis area. This role will work with the Sales Manager to ensure maximum market penetration at the best possible price, making every effort to develop all new markets and customers as possible - while maintaining positive relationships with existing customers.

### Responsibilities

Responsible for all asphalt plants in the St Louis District
- Conducts regular status and strategy meetings with medium-tier customer’s management to understand their needs and link them to the organization's product/service strategies
- Serves as a point of contact for moderately complex customer account management matters involving all aspects of the business, including sales, operations, production and quality control
- Supports the Sales team in scheduling and performing product demonstrations with potential customers
- Supports the Sales team in recommending marketing strategies to target a specific region or demographic
- Supports the Quality
- Control team as a customer liaison regarding product specification related needs
- Supports Internal Sales and Dispatch team as a customer liaison regarding efficient asphalt scheduling and shipments
- Identifies and executes bidding opportunities and closes opportunities to maximize profits including
- Coordinates and completes state, municipal and utility bids under advisement of Sales Manager
- Develops trusted advisor relationships with key account and customer stakeholders Skills: Product Knowledge Problem Solving Proposal Writing Relationship Management Communication Interpersonal Skills Business Acumen

### Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 2+ years of related experience Valid US driver’s license Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position that regularly requires long hours and weekend work. Occasional travel will be required.
