[Apply on Leidos’s careers site →](https://leidos.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Suitland-MD/Undersea-Technology-Specialist_R-00193417) [OpenNash Jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/) / [Leidos](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/leidos/) / Undersea Technology Specialist ## Job description ### Primary Responsibilities The candidate shall possess expertise in undersea technologies in order to conduct all-source intelligence analysis focused on analyzing and reporting existing and emerging maritime technology capabilities. ### Knowledge/expertise in the following underwater systems/technologies is essential - Unmanned undersea vehicles - Manned submersibles - Seafloor imaging sensors (acoustic & optical) - Undersea vehicle navigation and positioning ### What You’ll Need - Possess expertise in analyzing capabilities, readiness and operations of maritime vessels that employ underwater technologies. - Document analysis and assessments in various memorandum, technical reports, and/or briefings to be presented to the Customer and/or designated Customer audiences. - Attend designated underwater technology conferences (nominally 3x per year) and collect pertinent information as directed. - Details of conference attendance shall be documented within a trip report highlighting the collection opportunities and significant elements of information acquired including technical research papers, brochures or other media acquired during conference attendance. ### Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering with awareness of maritime technology or an associates degree with 5 years relevant experience Current TS/SCI or TS w/SCI eligibility, current CI polygraph a plus. Ability to work at customer site in Suitland, Maryland. Ability to brief senior leaders and customers without the support of a manager in attendance. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Awareness of undersea technology, ocean systems engineering, and deep-sea operations a plus. Additional Candidate will undergo additional job-specific training once hired.
