## Job description

Quality Control EngineerRole Purpose To ensure that all incoming materials, in-process operations, and finished Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) products meet defined quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory/safety requirements at the manufacturing facility.

### Key Responsibilities
- Conduct incoming quality inspection (IQC) of raw materials, cells, modules, and other BESS components as per approved specifications and drawings.
- Perform in-process quality checks (IPQC) at critical stages of module/pack/rack assembly to ensure conformance to process standards.
- Carry out final quality inspection (FQC) of finished BESS units prior to dispatch, including visual, dimensional, and functional checks.
- Identify, document, and drive closure of non-conformances (NCRs); support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain and calibrate quality inspection instruments/gauges; ensure calibration records are current.
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation — inspection reports, checklists, SOPs, control plans, and traceability records.
- Support internal, customer, and third-party quality audits (ISO 9001, IATF, or equivalent) for the BESS line.
- Coordinate with Production, Design, and Supplier Quality teams to resolve quality issues and reduce rejection/rework rates.
- Track and report quality KPIs (first pass yield, defect rate, customer complaints, etc.) to plant leadership.
- Support implementation of quality tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and 8D problem solving.

### Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline.
- 2–6 years of relevant experience in quality control/quality assurance, preferably in battery, BESS, electrical equipment, or electronics manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems; exposure to IATF 16949 is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with battery/BESS components (cells, modules, BMS, racks, enclosures) is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with quality inspection tools, instruments, and measurement systems (calipers, multimeters, insulation testers, etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Office/Excel; exposure to QMS/ERP systems (SAP QM module preferred).

### Desired Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability (RCA, CAPA, 8D).
- Attention to detail and process discipline.
- Good communication skills to liaise across production, engineering, and suppliers.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
