## Job description

Manage overall heat-wise operations of LF/VD and lead shift activities while ensuring safe and efficient working practices. Operate and monitor LF (Ladle Furnace) and VD (Vacuum Degassing) processes to achieve production and quality targets. Experience in EAF (Electric Arc Furnace) and VOD (Vacuum Oxygen Decarburization) operations will be an added advantage. Possess strong knowledge of alloy steel melting, secondary metallurgy, and clean steel-making practices.

Ensure compliance with quality management systems, process standards, and customer requirements. Monitor and control key process parameters to achieve desired metallurgical and product quality results. Manage raw material, alloy additions, and consumable inventory effectively to support uninterrupted operations. Drive cost reduction initiatives through process optimization, yield improvement, and resource conservation. Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

Analyze process data and implement corrective and preventive actions for process improvements. Guide and mentor shift personnel to ensure discipline, skill development, and team effectiveness. Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations, quality issues, and equipment-related problems. Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and statutory regulations in all operations. Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, and planning teams for smooth execution of operations.

Monitor consumption norms and take initiatives to reduce operational losses and improve productivity. Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to implement sustainable improvement initiatives. Prepare and maintain operational reports, production records, and process documentation. Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems for reporting, inventory management, and process monitoring. Ensure achievement of shift production targets while maintaining product quality and safety standards.

Shall have relevant experience in an Alloy Steel Plant, preferably in steel melting shop and secondary metallurgy operations.

## Qualifications

Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering
