With customers’ mission-critical needs always in mind, our employees deliver end-to-end technology solutions connecting the space, air, land, sea and cyber domains in the interest of national security. ### Job Title Intern, Mechanical Engineer Job Code: 42736 Job Location: Huntsville, AL Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off Job Description: - Provide mechanical engineering support for both new product development activities as well as factory support of existing products - Work directly with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation - Generate and/or process engineering change orders (ECO’s) as required Qualifications: Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering or related field at an accredited university. ### Preferred Skills CAD or analysis (FEA) tools exposure, and/or experience in mechanical design or analysis of electronic systems, structures and mechanisms - Must be able to apply the principles of Structural Mechanics to predict internal stresses and structural instabilities - Familiarity with finite element methods and fatigue - Familiarity with finite element methods and fatigue and damage tolerance principles L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
