[Apply on Kinder Morgan’s careers site →](https://careers-kindermorgan.icims.com/jobs/2392/login) [OpenNash Jobs](https://jobs.opennash.com/) / [Kinder Morgan](https://jobs.opennash.com/companies/kinder-morgan/) / Mechanic - Pier IX ## Job description ### What We Are Looking For The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment to maximize safe and productive operations to include but not limited to: -Inspect equipment for condition, operation, parts, and fluid levels -Check, fill, and replace appropriate fluids and parts -Perform adjustments to various systems during preventive maintenance service -Identify and diagnose mechanical problems -Complete necessary repair and preventive maintenance work -Comply with all federal, OSHA, and company policies and procedures -Complete required paperwork as necessary -Perform other duties as assigned ### What You Will Do Demonstrated work experience with troubleshooting equipment failure and ability to problem solve -Basic knowledge of conveyor and hydraulic systems is required -Basic knowledge of centrifugal pumps is required -Certification in industrial maintenance as a mechanic is preferred -Welding certification is preferred -Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical problems on conveyor systems and/or Diesel equipment and carry out repairs or adjustments to solve the problem -Must be able to demonstrate ability to cut and weld -Must be flexible and have the ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus on details, and follow work rules -Must be familiar with the use of test and measurement equipment -Demonstrated aptitude to execute and maintain necessary records -Must be able to respond to call outs on a 24 hour emergency basis -Must be able to work long hours, in excess of 12 hours, when required -Must be able to climb ladders and stairs -Willing and able to work at heights of 100+ feet -Able to negotiate uneven surface -Able to carry up to 50 lbs -Must be able to obtain a TWIC card -Must be able to pass company drug screen, background check, and any other applicable tests and clearances Pay Range USD $32.67 - USD $36.46 /Hr.
