Apply now! ### Learn more jti.com Governance & Platform Architecture Manager Purpose: This position exists within the Digital Technology Department, inside the Global Development Center (GDC), within the DIGITAL and IT function, supporting the DES ecosystem.The Governance & Platform Architecture Manager is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving application architecture standards across the DES landscape, with a strong focus on backend platforms, PHP-based applications, APIs, and cloud-native services. The role ensures that DES solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with enterprise technology standards while supporting application for modernization and long-term technology evolution.The position works in close collaboration with Backend Engineering, Frontend Engineering, Integration, DevOps, Security, and IAM teams, acting as a key architectural leader across DES delivery streams. The role combines hands-on architecture leadership, solution design, and governance responsibilities to drive consistent, high-quality application architectures across the organization. ### Responsibilities Application & Backend Architecture: define and evolve application architecture standards across the DES ecosystem. Drive backend architecture strategy for PHP-based applications, APIs, and shared services. Promote reusable patterns, modernization, and technology standardization Solution Design & Technical Leadership: lead architecture reviews and support engineering teams in designing scalable, maintainable, and cloud-ready solutions. Provide technical guidance for complex initiatives and drive the adoption of modern architecture practices Performance, Resilience & Observability: define architectural standards for scalability, availability, resilience, and performance. Ensure non-functional requirements are addressed early in design and promote consistent observability and monitoring approaches Security & Platform Integration: apply centrally defined Security and IAM strategies within DES applications. Ensure secure-by-design principles are embedded in solution architectures and act as an architectural liaison between DES teams and central functions Architecture Governance & Cross-Team Collaboration: review and validate application designs within DES scope. Work closely with Backend, Frontend, Integration, Magento, and DevOps teams to ensure architectural consistency, technology alignment, and continuous improvement. ### Requirements University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent strong IT background - 8+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or application architecture - Strong hands-on experience with PHP application development and architecture Experience with modern PHP frameworks (Laravel is a plus) - Proven experience designing large-scale backend applications and distributed systems Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures Experience with Azure cloud services, containers, and modern application platformsStrong understanding of performance, resilience, observability, and application security Experience defining architecture standards and guiding engineering teamsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills We offer: Equal Opportunity Environment A variety of challenging projects to develop skills The freedom to express yourself - Work hard in a flexible, energizing, and fun environment where people thrive Modern working space in the center of Madrid & smart working opportunities For the position you are currently applying for, the established hiring range is: Annual Base Salary: Eur 66 300 – 78 800 gross/year Please note that the final offer is determined by objective criteria, including your specific professional experience, technical expertise and the complexity of the responsibilities associated with the role level Are you ready to join us?
