### Position Overview

The Reimbursement, Health Economics & Market Access (RHEMA) team helps medical technology companies navigate the complex path from innovation to patient access. By combining expertise in reimbursement, coding, coverage, payment, health policy, and market access strategy, the team supports clients in achieving commercial success while improving access to innovative healthcare solutions. This Research Associate role will primarily support reimbursement and market access consulting engagements across a wide range of medical technologies.

Working closely with experienced consultants and industry experts, the individual will conduct research, analyze healthcare policy and payer environments, develop client-facing deliverables, and contribute to strategies that help products achieve sustainable reimbursement and adoption. The position is well suited for candidates from a variety of academic backgrounds who are interested in healthcare consulting, health policy, business strategy, public health, life sciences, economics, government affairs, or the broader healthcare ecosystem.

This position is hybrid out of our Washington, DC office.

### Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on Medicare, Medicaid, and private-payer coverage, coding, and payment policies and amounts.
- Perform targeted and systematic literature searches, evidence landscape reviews, and evidence-gap assessments.
- Support market opportunity assessments by evaluating clinical, economic, reimbursement, and stakeholder adoption drivers.
- Identify and assess relevant datasets and real-world evidence sources for client research questions.
- Assist with health economics and outcomes research, burden-of-illness analyses, and basic cost, budget-impact, or value analyses under the guidance of a project lead.
- Support publication planning, evidence-generation plans, value tools, payer materials, and other stakeholder-facing assets.
- Compile and analyze information from online sources, published literature, databases, and telephone interviews with payers, providers, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare concise, accurate deliverables in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel that summarize methods, findings, implications, and recommendations.
- Present research findings to internal teams and, as appropriate, clients; incorporate feedback efficiently and accurately.
- Track assigned work against project scope, budget, and timeline requirements and communicate emerging issues promptly.
- Collaborate across reimbursement, evidence development, market access, regulatory, and clinical teams.
- Contribute to internal knowledge development, service-line improvement, and evaluation of new business opportunities.

### Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health economics, public health, health policy, epidemiology, economics, statistics, life sciences, or a related discipline. Relevant graduate coursework or an advanced degree is preferred but not required.
- Strong research, analytical, quantitative, writing, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex scientific, policy, and business information.
- Familiarity with evidence-generation concepts, including literature review, real-world evidence, health economics, patient-reported outcomes, and publication research.
- Ability to organize multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and produce accurate work with appropriate supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and professionalism in client and stakeholder interactions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

### Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship, academic, consulting, CRO, health plan, industry, or research experience in healthcare or medical technology.
- Exposure to Medicare or commercial-payer policy, medical terminology, or medical-device reimbursement.
- Experience with structured literature review methods, data extraction, statistical analysis, or R, Stata, SAS, Python, or similar tools.
- Intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and a willingness to develop expertise across coverage, coding, payment, evidence, and market access.
