Beyond hands-on engineering, you'll help shape technical decisions, promote engineering excellence, and support the growth of fellow engineers. You'll collaborate with colleagues across ING's global network to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that improve the banking experience for millions of customers. About the Team You will become part of ING Hubs Philippines, an international team supporting ING's Retail Banking business. Our teams bring together diverse perspectives, collaborate across borders, and embrace a culture of continuous learning and shared success. This is an opportunity to work with colleagues from different countries, exchange knowledge with global experts, and contribute to technology that makes a real difference. ### What You'll Do - Develop and maintain reliable, high-quality backend applications - Design and build RESTful APIs and backend services - Write automated tests and champion quality-first engineering practices - Set up and enhance CI/CD pipelines Apply DevOps and Agile ways of working - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver new features Incorporate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle - Contribute to team growth through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and technical interviews Continuously learn and explore emerging technologies and engineering practices ### Required Skills & Experience - Proven experience developing backend applications using Java 8, Java 11, or higher - Strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot - Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs Hands-on experience with Git or other version control tools Experience with unit testing and test automation frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito - Strong software engineering fundamentals, including design patterns and clean coding practices - Excellent communication and collaboration skills Experience working within Agile development teams ### Nice to Have Experience with SQL databases, JPA, Hibernate, or related technologies - Knowledge of microservices architecture - Familiarity with containerization and orchestration concepts Experience with CI/CD tools and build automation tools such as Maven Exposure to cloud technologies and modern engineering practices ### What We Offer Opportunities to collaborate with international teams across the ING network A culture that encourages continuous learning and professional growth Exposure to modern engineering practices and technologies A diverse and inclusive workplace where your ideas are valued The chance to contribute to products that impact millions of customers worldwide Worried about the wage gap?
