In this role, you’ll play a critical part in designing, optimizing, and supporting automated systems that drive the production of our high-quality zipper products. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working directly with production equipment, and making a measurable impact on performance, reliability, and efficiency. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate across multiple North American facilities, with occasional travel to support capital projects in the Chicagoland area. ### What You’ll Do - Optimize automation and processes across production lines to improve uptime, performance, and product quality - Partner closely with production and maintenance teams to enhance operational performance - Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and productivity - Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and control systems for extrusion and downstream equipment - Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls issues to minimize downtime - Drive and support capital projects, from concept through implementation - Support equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning across multiple facilities - Analyze production data to identify trends and implement process improvements - Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics and standard operating procedures What You Bring: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience) - 5+ years of experience in industrial automation within a manufacturing environment - Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Codesys platforms - Experience with HMI and SCADA systems - Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and control systems - Knowledge of industrial components such as sensors, drives, motion control, vision systems, and industrial networks (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Profibus) - Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings Nice to Have: - Experience in plastic extrusion or manufacturing environments Key Skills for Success: - Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset - Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment - Continuous improvement mindset with strong attention to detail Compensation Information: The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $110,000 annually. The pay rate for a successful candidate will depend on the geographic location, this salary range is for a successful candidate in the Atlanta metro area.
